Test Before You Send
In this lesson, you'll review three key tools you can use to test your emails before sending.
- Preview and Test shows the general look of the email.
- Inbox Vision tool shows you exactly how your email appears across a wide variety of operating systems and email clients.
- Test email sending lets you send emails to members of your team before you email your end users.
Basic Email Preview
After you’ve finished composing your email, you can get a basic preview of how it will render on desktop, mobile, and plaintext.
In desktop and mobile mode, you can also check how your email will render in dark mode, which is increasingly common.

Logos and other elements may not render well in dark mode, so you should always check to make sure things are rendering as expected.
Inbox Vision
You can test how your emails render using the Inbox Vision tool. Inbox Vision sends your email to real inboxes and email client applications managed by Braze, then shows you how your email looks across a variety of devices, operating systems and email clients.
You can also find out if your email design is triggering spam filters, and if there are any problems with your email's HTML code.

To use Inbox Vision you must have a valid email sending domain, and a valid subject line for your email.
As you review the previews, pay close attention to the layout, images, and text formatting to ensure that your email looks across all platforms. If you notice any issues, return to the Braze Email Drag & Drop Editor to make the necessary adjustments and retest using Inbox Vision.
Sending Test Emails
The Preview & Test and Inbox Vision tools show how your email looks, but they can't test interactive elements like buttons and links. However, the Drag & Drop Editor allows you to send test emails to yourself or colleagues to see how they would appear to your users.
